OOTD: Floral Business

Hi dolls, I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful fall weather outside. I know many of you might be unwilling to give up the pretty summer dresses yet, well, me either.

A great way to transition the summer dresses to fall is to style it with a tailored blazer. I love how the blazer really dresses up the look and transform the girl next-door floral dress into a more grown-up feminine style.

I am so in love with those wedges. They have a nautical feel to them and the curved sole really adds an interesting twist to your typical summer wedges. Plus, they are so comfortable and they make your legs look miles long.

What do you think of this outfit? Is there any other summer pieces that you love to incorporate into fall styles? Please share with me :)

OOTD: Cross and Denim

Hi beautiful, I have another style post for you all. I know the weather is getting chillier every day, and I apologize for putting up such a summery outfit. But I really don’t want to throw those photos away and this outfit sums up my style really nicely.

I absolutely adore cropped tops, there’s something about them that really appeal to me. Same with circle skirts, I love the fullness and structure of them. Twirling in circle skirts is so much fun :)

I pair this outfit with lots of silver and gunmetal accessories. Those shoes marry classic oxford style and trendy creeper with a beautiful metallic color. I got them from Topshop when it was on sale for only $20! Love them to pieces!

I bought most of the accessories from China while I was there this summer, but I’m sure you can find things like this from Forever 21. The choker necklace was from Ardene quite a while ago. I often find it hard to style but I love how the pendant falls on the crop top.

As for the makeup, I was experimenting with the cut-crease look, so if this is not your cup of tea, I apologize. Even I think it’s way too dramatic.

Anyhow, I hope you enjoy this outfit post. Please let me know what you think of crop tops. Are they chic or trashy? I personally love them in the summer time, of course!

September is my lucky month!

Hi dolls! I have some amazing news to share with you today. Well, let’s just say I’ve been incredibly lucky recently and I’ve won two prizes on YouTube. If you’ve been following me for a while, you must know that I am super into entering YouTube contests.

The first contest that I won is one hosted by Hayleyistcb. She is a stunning YouTube beauty guru that makes amazing videos. For someone her age, she has a very interesting job which she often updates on her channel. If you don’t know her, definitely check her out. Anyways, she hosted this video competition to celebrate her 5 year anniversary on YouTube. We were asked to make a video on how YouTube has changed our life. And she selected me as the winner! I just got her gifts last week, and let me just say, I adore every single present.

She is such a sweet heart, she sent me loads of post cards with cool beauty quotes on it as well. I am so happy with everything!

Also, another Canadian girl called sabbrinaxo promoted a newly opened Canadian online store called dame occasionnel. I won a dress from them. The dress looks really simple and it’s not something that I would normally pick out, but surprisingly, I love it very much!

It’s super casual but you can definitely dress it up as well. The quality is quite nice and the person who works for them id really kind. The delivery comes in 1 or 2 days, which I was very pleasantly surprised by the efficiency. Definitely check this website out if you are from Canada J
That’s a quick update for you all and I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.

DIY & Upcycle: chevron coffee tin

Hi beautiful! Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I just started university this week and it’s been super busy already. Today, I have an easy DIY for you all.
This is a very simple way to glam up those empty coffee tins you have around home. Sometimes, you just don’t want to throw them away because you know they can be useful one day. There’re so many things you can do with empty containers like this one I’m using here. It can be a nice room decor or you can use it to hold your makeup brushes, fake flowers like I’m doing here etc. Without further ado, here’s the DIY tutorial.

I was originally planning to paint the chevron pattern right on top of the tin; however, I realize how difficult that would be. So instead, I drew the pattern on a piece of paper and wrap the paper around the tin.

I first measured the height of the container, and I cut off a piece of paper with the same height (or width). I made sure the paper is long enough to wrap around the container, and I started the sketching.
This is really self-explanatory so I’m sure you can all do this at home as well. It can be quite time consuming if you want the pattern to be precise, but I had a lot of time on my hand at that time, so I went ahead and made the pattern as neat as I can.

After that, I used acrylic paint which I mixed purple and white to create this pastel color and I glued it onto the container.

Voila! That’s the end result. I think it really adds a nice little touch to your home decoration and it’s a great way to upcycle those empty tins you have laying around in your house.

I hope you enjoyed this simple DIY. And let me know what you think of this. Don't forget to comment and follow my blog :)

Peak-a-boo Ombre to Posh Bob: my hair revolution

Well, if you see the title, I’m sure you’re all curious about what happened to my hair. And yes, I cut it! What?!
So basically, I went from hair down to my waist to this short bob cut. This post is dedicated to my recent hair revolution and I’ve gotten quite a few compliments on both my older hairstyle as well as the new one. So I decided to combine both hairstyles into one post and let you know how I got them done.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, I’m sure you have seen my older hairstyle. I like to call it peak-a-boo ombre. I know ombre has been a trend for what seems like forever, but I was definitely into the trend right from the beginning. My reasons were quite simple, first, well, I think it’s really pretty and unique (until every other person I see on the street has the hairstyle) and also, it’s so easy to maintain. Unlike regular highlights, the more your roots grow out, the more natural your hair looks, in my opinion. So last August, I persuaded my parents to let me dye my hair and I went straight to my hair dresser with a picture of Lily Aldridge’s hair. I thought, you know, she has dark brown to black hair and so do I, the hair stylist should be able to do it, right?
before ombre

Unfortunately, I was told that the style is too complex and she suggested to bleach my bottom layer so it somewhat looks like ombre and here you go.

To be quite honest with you, I was never that happy with the hairstyle. While numerous girls tell me my hair is amazing and what not, I just never loved my hair. But, time and effort and money have been spent, so I kept the hairstyle for exactly a year.
I don’t remember starting from when but I became obsessed with bob. I want to say it was Karlie Kloss who started the whole “lob” trend but I could be wrong. Anyways, I was convinced that short hair was the way to go. Trust me, no one around me supported the idea of cutting off all of my hair. As I said, many have been lusting over my hair since it was super long, straight and somewhat healthy. Though I never enjoyed my naturally straight hair, it had zero volume and sticked right to my scalp.
the only picture I could find of my natural hair

But the more I look at Victoria Beckham’s bob, Keira Knightly’s etc, the more I wanted to cut my hair. Starting from September 10th, I will be starting my first year university and I want to have a fresh new image. So After I came back from China, I again went to the same hair dresser I went to last August for my ombre. You might ask why would you go to the same hairdresser if you hated the last hairstyle, well I have to say she is very good with cutting and styling, it’s her husband that does the bleaching, needless to say, her husband definitely lacks the skill for it. Anyways, I just want to let you know that she did a fantastic job as always and I am so happy with my new hairstyle.

It cuts around my chin and a bit of the previously bleached hair still peaks through, somehow, it just all worked out. I think this hairstyle is very chic and frames my face nicely. I hope you like it as much as I do. Though I have to share a fun fact with you, the moment I showed my grandma my new hairstyle, she immediately told me she liked the long one better. Well, you can’t please everyone, can you?
People tell me that it definitely takes courage to cut off so much hair but to be honest, I am quite adventurous when it comes to hair style. So who knows, what will I do next August? I guess we’ll just wait and find out :P

ps. I haven't taken many selfies yet so the pictures here are quite boring sorry :(

Face and Outfit of the Day: Maroon to the moon

Hi beautiful <3 Today I have a short face and outfit of the day for you all.

I have been quite busy recently since I just came back to Toronto, my uni is starting in a week and all. So I’m sorry that I have been MIA for quite a while. So I met up with my high school bestie last week, I didn’t get to celebrate her 18th birthday so we decided to go to a Korean BBQ to make it up (it was super delicious by the way). I got her some Big Bang items, I was so glad that she was extremely happy about them. Anyways, so this is what I wore to our lunch date :P

For makeup, I went for a soft neutral look, the long lashes were the focal point. I believe I used sin and buck from the naked palette. To be honest, I didn’t wear this lip shade since I knew I would take it off anyways. This shade is so beautiful, it’s blackberry by Revlon. I seriously need to do a review on this product.

As for my outfit, the top is DIYed by me. I will have a tutorial on it woon as well. As for the maxi skirt, it’s from Forever 21. Since I cut my shirt pretty low on the side, I wore this bralette by Brandy Melville. I wore my black and silver sandal on the day, but if I didn’t have to walk too much, I would totally pair this outfit with my Jeffrey Campbell spiked lita.
I hope you enjoy this short post. Have you ever tried Korean BBQ? What would you wear to a date with your BFF? Don't forget to comment and follow my blog.
