Hi dolls, I know I don’t do this often, but today I have a fabulous recipe to share with you all. I am sure you’ve heard of the famous cauliflower pizza crust and I would like share with you all my spin on this well-known healthy recipe.
You’ll need the following ingredients:
- 1 & ½ cups of cauliflower
- ¾ cups of oatmeal flour (I just blended about a cup of instant oatmeal in my nutribullet)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
Although in the original recipe, it asked to blend the raw cauliflower first and then cook it, it just so happened that we had some cooked cauliflower lying around. It was boiled with some pork so it had some extra flavoring that totally worked with this recipe. Also, the original recipe asked 3 tablespoons ground chia or flax seeds and 1/2 cup almond meal, I substituted all of it with the oatmeal flour. It reduced fat content significantly yet still maintained the doughy texture of a pizza crust.
We put it in the oven at 4oo degree Fahrenheit for about 15 minutes and flip to the other side for another 10. As for the toppings, we blended up 3 tomatoes and drained it so it had a paste consistency, we also added a pinch of dried oregano and garlic powder. Mushrooms and green pepper are classic pizza toppings, so we definitely had to put them on top of our homemade tomato sauce. Topping it all off with some feta cheese and grated cheddar and popped it back into the oven for another 15 min. Voila! A yummy and healthy vegetarian pizza for you to enjoy.
